Dr Choi completed specialist training at St Mark's Hospital in London and St George Hospital in Sydney, and undertook a dedicated Advanced IBD Fellowship at Concord Hospital.
His PhD research focused on colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Gut. He has presented at international conferences, and his research has received awards including the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) Y-ECCO Prize.
Dr Choi remains actively involved in clinical research and is committed to improving care for people living with digestive conditions, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which can have a substantial impact on quality of life. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, with several presentations receiving awards recognising their contribution to the field of IBD. He also regularly peer reviews research for gastroenterology journals.
